Claims Handler

About this role

This role involves managing an international portfolio of Marine and Aviation claims from initial notification through to final settlement. The successful candidate will handle the full claims lifecycle, including investigation, coverage analysis, reserving, and stakeholder coordination with brokers, insureds, adjusters, and legal advisers. The position requires sound technical judgement, proactive management within delegated authority limits, and the ability to balance fair outcomes with commercial considerations while maintaining high-quality documentation and audit trails. The ideal candidate brings previous claims handling experience in the London Market, Lloyd's, or international insurance environment, ideally with exposure to Marine, Aviation, or other specialty classes. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with claims systems and Microsoft Office are essential. Relevant insurance qualifications such as Dip CII or ACII, or progress towards them, are beneficial. The role demands an organised, relationship-focused individual who can manage competing priorities independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
