The role
An opportunity for an entrepreneurial broker to run and grow their own specialist insurance desk on a self-employed consultancy basis. The desk sits within an established broking platform. This is opportunity opens the door for a significant revenue share arrangement up to 70%, but is not a salaried position.
What you'll do
The role involves building relationships with retail brokers, intermediaries, clients and insurance markets, and winning new business. The successful candidate will negotiate and arrange placements, manage renewals and build a profitable specialist portfolio. They will also run the desk's day-to-day activity and commercial performance within the regulatory framework.
What they're looking for
Wholesale brokers with Lloyd's or London Market experience and relationships that generate placement flow are especially of interest. Professionals from retail or specialist broking, reinsurance, underwriting or MGAs with a convincing growth plan will also be considered. Sound technical and market knowledge, independence, commercial instincts and an entrepreneurial appetite are needed, along with existing UK right to work.
What's on offer
The arrangement offers substantial autonomy, a direct share of up to 70% of the income generated, and direct access to leadership for guidance & support. The company provides compliance oversight, financial administration including client money handling, and Lloyd's and London Market placement capabilities. No portable book is required on day one, though a credible route to winning business matters. Income is not guaranteed, and no London office is provided.
