Fraud Investigator Accidental Damage (12 Month FTC)
About this role
This role involves investigating suspected fraudulent accidental damage claims to protect the business and its customers. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of claims, conduct customer interviews by telephone, and work with external specialists such as accident investigators and motor engineers to gather and assess evidence. Desktop research using industry databases, review of police reports, and analysis of engineering findings will inform claim decisions. The position requires balancing fraud detection targets with professional customer service, processing payments, and maintaining compliance with financial crime procedures. The ideal candidate brings experience in motor insurance fraud investigation, proven ability to manage caseloads within service level agreements, and familiarity with FCA Consumer Duty requirements. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside basic computer literacy and the ability to recognise fraud indicators. After an initial three-month full-time onboarding period, the role offers hybrid working arrangements with flexibility around office attendance.
