This role offers the chance to lead underwriting strategy and philosophy for Life and Health insurance across the UK and Ireland market. Reporting to the Head of Underwriting and Claims, you will shape the firm's underwriting approach, provide senior technical guidance to colleagues and clients, and build long-term partnerships with leading insurers. You'll collaborate across underwriting, claims, pricing, medical, and client-facing teams to support portfolio management, set risk appetite, and help clients implement practical underwriting solutions including emerging technologies like AI. The ideal candidate brings proven expertise in Life and Health underwriting with a strong technical foundation and understanding of portfolio performance. You should demonstrate the ability to build trusted client relationships, translate complex underwriting concepts into practical advice, and set or contribute to risk appetite strategy with sound judgment. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and representing organisations at industry events. Enthusiasm for emerging underwriting approaches, data analytics, and digital innovation is valued.
