You will manage a substantial portfolio of commercial renewals, ranging from smaller accounts to complex, high-value risks, while providing mentoring and guidance to junior colleagues. Your responsibilities will encompass developing profitable underwriting decisions within your authority, maintaining strong client relationships through regular engagement, and identifying process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience underwriting property and casualty business in commercial or specialty insurance markets, coupled with strong analytical capabilities and excellent negotiation skills. You should demonstrate proficiency in assessing risk exposures, understanding of underwriting principles and relevant legislation, and the ability to manage demanding workloads effectively. A professional insurance qualification such as the Diploma in Insurance is desirable, as is prior experience mentoring colleagues or delivering training.
