Senior Underwriter Property

This role offers an opportunity to lead and develop a profitable property insurance portfolio for a major global insurer operating across multiple continents. The successful candidate will underwrite individual risks, evaluate insurance proposals, and determine premiums within delegated authority while managing junior team members. Key responsibilities include building broker and client relationships across UK and London markets, steering portfolio performance using actuarial models and key metrics, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and collaborating with claims, compliance, and other business partners. The ideal candidate brings substantial retail property underwriting experience across lead, follow, captive, and multinational business lines. Strong technical expertise in underwriting policy and file analysis is essential, along with proficiency in analytics and pricing tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are required, together with the ability to work effectively under pressure, organize complex workloads, and drive process improvements. Current knowledge of insurance regulations and awareness of regulatory developments are important for this position.
