The successful candidate will manage new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments within delegated authority, evaluate complex risks for profitability, and build strong relationships with brokers and partners. The position combines hands-on underwriting with mentoring responsibilities, requiring the post-holder to coach team members and serve as a senior technical reference while maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings substantial commercial Property underwriting experience, particularly with Owners, Household, and related coverages, alongside strong negotiation skills and a track record of developing underwriting staff. Knowledge of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty requirements is essential.
