This role offers an opportunity to work as a Technical Underwriter for a specialist insurer's Direct Commercial Underwriting Team. The successful candidate will provide expert technical support on complex Commercial Property and Liability cases, guiding risk acceptance decisions, pricing, and policy terms. Responsibilities include developing and underwriting new and existing business within delegated authority, monitoring portfolio performance for trends and profitability, and collaborating with colleagues across underwriting, pricing, claims and operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in Commercial Property and Liability underwriting, with proven experience assessing complex risks and sound judgment in decision-making. Leadership and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with knowledge of underwriting governance and regulatory requirements. Professional qualifications such as ACII or Dip CII are preferred. The role also involves coaching and developing team capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
