Technical Underwriter
About this role
This role offers an opportunity to work as a technical underwriter for a specialist insurance organisation, taking on complex underwriting cases while serving as a technical leader within the team. The successful candidate will develop and manage new and existing business, drive profitable underwriting outcomes, and lead portfolio management initiatives. A key aspect of the position involves coaching and developing underwriting colleagues, conducting team audits, and implementing improvements to underwriting standards and procedures. The role also requires building strong relationships with brokers and key clients, representing the organisation at industry events, and contributing to product development. Candidates should bring substantial commercial underwriting experience, proven coaching ability in commercial settings, and a track record of delivering excellent customer service. Experience with audit processes and performance feedback is essential. The hiring team particularly values ACII qualification or a commitment to achieving it, along with training delivery experience and stakeholder management skills. This is a full-time position based on a 35-hour working week.
