This role offers an opportunity to work as a Technical Underwriter for a specialist insurance provider, combining hands-on underwriting expertise with team leadership responsibilities. You will manage complex commercial underwriting cases, drive profitable growth through portfolio management and pricing initiatives, and ensure compliance with underwriting standards. A key aspect of the position involves developing team capability through coaching, training, and technical guidance to less experienced staff members. The ideal candidate brings substantial commercial underwriting experience, a proven ability to coach colleagues, and a strong track record in customer service delivery. Experience with audit processes and performance feedback is essential. Professional qualifications such as ACII, or a commitment to obtaining them, are valued, along with experience delivering training and managing stakeholder relationships in commercial environments. This is a full-time position based on a hybrid arrangement.
