Underwriter - Professional Indemnity

The role
This role sits with a specialist MGA offering financial lines and professional indemnity insurance to brokers. The underwriter will analyse risks and help grow the Professional Indemnity portfolio in line with the underwriting strategy.
What you'll do
The role involves underwriting and analysing Commercial PI risks, liaising with brokers for risk information, and referring risks that exceed authority. The successful candidate will also own the end-to-end renewal process, build broker relationships, and support marketing events. Further duties include credit control escalation, file upkeep, peer review meetings, and keeping up with regulation and CPD.
What they're looking for
The employer wants previous Commercial PI underwriting experience and at least 3 years in insurance, with 5 preferred. Strong technical knowledge of PI wordings and market trends is expected, along with ACII progression and/or a degree (preferable, not essential). Candidates should be commercial, analytical, accurate, a good communicator and a team player willing to support junior underwriters.
